San Tan Valley, located right alongside its nearby namesake the San Tan Mountains, is a bedroom community located in the Southeast Valley. San Tan Valley’s neighbors include Queen Creek, Florence, and the Gila River Indian Community. With over 81,000 residents San Tan Valley has experienced substantial population growth with the residential explosion of growth. The area is comprised mainly of master planned communities, such as the pinnacle golf course development in the area Johnson Ranch.

History

San Tan Valley, like many of its neighboring town/city counterparts, has a history tied to agriculture and husbandry. Essentially prior to the explosive housing growth in 2000 the area of San Tan Valley had remained unchanged. However, around that time the area experienced explosive residential growth, and in 2009 the area was officially named San Tan Valley.

Employment

San Tan Valley, much like other surrounding areas, is a bedroom community that does not have many established employment sectors. However, with the presence of the newly established Banner Ironwood Medical Center employment in the area, especially in the medical and professional fields, is on the rise.

Entertainment

From hiking to horse trails to hot air balloon rides San Tan Valley has much to offer for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, there are a multitude of local restaurants, stores, and venues in the surrounding area for one to choose from.
